[Press Release]: The 9th Expo Pakistan held in the heart of Pakistan’s commercial Capital, Karachi is anticipated as an event which will be met with a raving response from the traders, developers, and businessmen who’re expected to flock Expo center as soon as it open the gate on 26th Feb – 1st March. Keeping in mind its astounding success last year where Expo Pakistan Exhibition and Fashion Show (2013) managed to be the center of attention of large number of local and foreign buyers who solely generated an estimated business of US $ 1 billion as compared to deals estimated at US $ 690 million, the year before; expectations are kept fairly high this time around.

IVS (99)TDAP being an illustrious platform hosted it’s one of a kind Fashion Show 2015 from 26-27th Feb 2015 at PC Hotel. The designers presented their tasteful tailoring and classical silhouettes in form of an outré and extravagant prêt and luxury prêt wear. They displaying detailed craftsmanship neatly tucked in sheer-body skimming layer and underneath voluminous fads of thick, tapered silhouettes.

Beginning Day 1 with the illustrious Zaheer Abbas, showcased his collection titled, “Ode to Thar” to pay a tribute to the Thar women and their workmanship. He displayed a wide blend of folksy dresses, and culturally modern silhouettes which not only growl with sensuality, but also retain an aura of inheritance. With a fusion of Eastern and Western trends, Zaheer presented a brilliant display of tie & dye technique specifically used in the Thar and Rajasthan area.

Following him, was Sahar Atif who unveiled “The Sultanate”- a collection that marries exquisite embroidery with the drama of couture as it works to preserve the centuries of legacy of Islamic art, architecture and crafts translated into the finest examples of elegance. It was an amalgamation of the purity of white-on-white juxtaposed against the modernity of Saai’s signature silhouettes, with a revival of hand embroidery and tanka work in her prêt-wear.

Deepak Perwani (63)Next was a fashion TDAP mix featuring exquisite capsule collections by Maheen Kardar (Karma Pink), Akif Mahmood, Nickie Nina and Sara Sublime. After which, Adnan Pardesy mesmerized the onlookers with his collection inspired by the Chinese floral, forest abstracts, Kalamkaari, Japanese weave structure, Japanese Geisha, Psychedelic pattern, Greek temple landscape with imagery, African tribal motif, Stencil technique tattoo, contemporary art with abstract imagery and Islamic pattern composition. His collection was composed of well structured, tapered jackets, simple clean lines graphics, intricate hand embroidery fabric manipulation, fabric twists and drapes. The collection has a color palette of monochromed ivory, whites and blacks.
