Sehwan is the city also known as the city of shrines located in Jamshoro District in the province of Sindh in Pakistan. This city is located on the west bank of Indus River. The nearest main city is Hyderabad which is about 120kms South-east of Sehwan-Sharif. The city is famous for the most important Sufi shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar. Lal Shahbaz Qalandar whose real name was Shah Hussain marwandi or Shah Usman Marvandi and he was a Sufi philosopher and a poet from Persia which are the current countries of Pakistan & Afghanistan. This city is the most famous city due to the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, every year the annual Urs or death ceremony of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar held on 18th of Sha’aban, which is the eighth month of the Muslim Lunar calendar. This is one of the biggest religious events of any Sufi in Pakistan, which is attended by more than half a million pilgrims who come to the city every year and narrow street of Sehwan gets filled with Faqeers, Qalandars & devotees. The ceremony goes for 3 days and 3 nights many pilgrims attend the shrine Of great Sufi and ask for their wishes to get fulfilled. the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar is the official symbol of the city.

There is also an airport in Sehwan Sharif which hosts the flights from Karachi & Moenjodaro only and it is used for VIP’s or for private planes. Most of the pilgrims visit this city of Shewan via train. Trains from every major city of Pakistan come to this city.
