Panama JIT Update: Opposition Join Hands Against Government

On Friday 14th July 2017, prominent figures of the opposition parties under the leadership of opposition leader in the National Assemble Khursheed Shah, meeting at his chamber in the National Assembly. They are meeting to strategize against the ruling party and unanimously demand prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation in light of findings of JIT.

Opposition parties are of the view that Nawaz Sharif should resign as prime minister and go to court without any official status/position to prove himself not guilty. All the opposition parties are of the view that PML-N is just delaying proceedings of the Supreme Court by denying JIT report that turned out to be against Sharif family.

The representatives of opposition parties currently in meeting with Khursheed Shah are Shireen Mazari, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Sherry Rehman, Aitzaz Ahsan, Siraj-ul-Haq, Sheikh Rasheed, Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, Aftab Ahmed Sherpao and Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi.
