As the Supreme Court reversed Asia Bibi’s certainty today, the country’s fallen into a bit of situational disorder. Whereas many are lauding the Supreme Court for standing at the right side of history and making a signpost conclusion of releasing a wrongfully convicted person. Religiously conformist groups are furious at this decision and demanding reversal through protests. We can commend the remarkable and brave comments of the Justice Khosa.

The judgment is being called as landmark but of particular note is Justice Asif Saeed Khosa’s additional note. Justice Khosa is known to have been part of the Supreme Court benches in other landmark cases, like the case against former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s illegal investments – known as the “Panama Case”.

People are stunned with Justice Khosa’s choice of words, his expressiveness and his use of religious and literary references to make his argument

People are celebrating his “guts” and courage in the face of unpleasant conditions and tough decisions

And they’re certainly looking forward to his tenure as the next Chief Justice of Pakistan

Justice Khosa is poised to become Pakistan’s next Chief Justice once the present Chief Justice Saqib Nisar retires on January 17, 2019 and by the looks of it, many Pakistanis are enthusiastically waiting for Justice Khosa to take charge of the judiciary.
