Sehwan Sharif is a historic town located in Sindh. It falls under the administrative jurisdiction of Jamshoro District and has an administrative status of a Tehsil. Sehwan Sharif has a population of nearly 100,000 inhabitants according to the population consensus survey of 2017. Majority of the people living in the area are Sindhis with Sindhi as the major spoken language however Urdu, Pashto and Punjabi are also spoken among some sections of the population.
The city is famous for the Shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, which attracts almost a million visitors every year. The Shrine has a huge following not only in Sindh but all across Pakistan. Not only has this, apart from the majority Muslim followers’ even local Hindu communities regularly visited the Shrine. Moreover, Pakistan’s largest freshwater lake, the Manchar Lake is located near Sehwan Sharif
