Lawa is a city located in Punjab. It falls under the administrative jurisdiction of Chakwal District and has an administrative status of a Tehsil. Lawa has a population of nearly 126,000 inhabitants according to the population consensus survey of 2017. The city of Lawa is dominated by Punjabis belonging mainly belonging to the Awan tribe. The city is famous for its annual Tent Pegging (Neza-Bazi in Urdu) competition known as “Jashn-e-Nezabazi Lawa,” in which more than 200 players from all over Pakistan participate. Most of the people in the region are involved in agriculture and farming which serves as their main sources of income
