Railway minister Khawaja Saad Rafique has been summoned by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court on Thursday, March 22nd, 2018 regarding the corruption investigation into a private housing scheme. According to the sources Khawaja Saad Rafique has main shares in Paragon City, a private housing scheme in Lahore. He has been accused of illegal Land grabbing against the bylaws of the province.

According to the sources, most of the land acquired from the local farmer is totally agricultural land and Paragon city management has ties with the local land grab mafia in the area and they had the sources in Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to get all kinds of approvals. Sources further said that Khawaja Salman Rafique who is Punjab Health Minister and brother of Khawaja Saad Rafique has also summoned by NAB in a separate investigation on March 26th.

Anti Corruption department has been investigating the corruption allegations on government officials in which Director General Lahore Development Authority (LDA) was suspended from his post and got arrested on Feb 21, 2018, due to a corruption charges against him in a case related to Ashiana Housing Scheme. According to the reports he gave the contract of Rs 14billion of Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing project to a company who was ineligible for the task
