How to Reset Your iPhone or iPad in Pakistan

If you are selling your iPhone or iPad or iPod or getting it repaired then you’ll want to remove all your email, photos, videos, notes, passwords and any other personal data. We explain how to back up that data and then reset your iOS device to factory settings and then it will be ready for repair or market to sell.

Whether you are selling your iPhone or taking it for repair you should reset it to delete your accounts, including your Apple account, Facebook, email and other accounts and remove all your content including apps, photos and music. How to Soft Reset an iPhone or iPad

How to Back up an iPhone

Even if you use iCloud, it’s wise to make a full backup by connecting your iPad or iPhone to your computer, unlocking it, waiting for it to show up in iTunes, and then clicking on it in the left-hand pane. It should open the Summary screen, where you’ll see a Backups section. Simply click the Back up Now button. Make sure to check the Encrypt iPhone backup box if you want all your passwords to be saved.

How to Reset an iPhone

Once that’s done, you can begin the reset process. Make sure you remove your SIM Card before you start the process as this may have information stored on it and you might want to continue using it in a new phone or tablet. The version of iOS you are using may be different from what is showing here, but all are almost the same and things look the same on an iPad.

• Tap Settings, then click General. Scroll down until you see Reset option.
• Tap to Erase All Content and Settings. Depending on whether you’ve set a Passcode and / or a Restrictions Passcode (they are different) you might have to enter that code or password in order to erase and reset it, if it is your phone then you would know it. You may not be able to reset the iPhone or iPad without the passcode.
• Enter your Apple ID password. This is so the account can be removed from your device, and Find My iPhone can be switched off. If you merely restore an iPhone via iTunes, you’ll be asked to enter the Apple ID and password when it reboots. Resetting it using the method described here will prevent the iPhone asking for an Apple ID when it restarts.

The whole process should take only a minute or two. It will then ask Swipe to Continue. Your device is ready to sell or go to repair shop.
