A Computerized Pakistan National Identity Card/ID card contains your personal information on behalf of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) issued to all Pakistani citizens at the age of 18. If you have changed your residence since the first issuance of your ID card, then you can modify your information through by visiting a nearby NADRA office or E-Sahulat center.

After submitting the fee, the concerned information may be updated to the preexisting data accordingly. Changing of permanent address does not require any document. In case of residential address change, the previous CNIC must be shredded. The documented proof can be in the form of rent agreement, copy of a blood relative’s CNIC that has the same address, allotment property papers against the parent’s name, or reference/witness ID card with the same address that is subjected to confirmation.

You may also apply through the online portal i.e. http://id.nadra.gov.pk/modify-id/. You must get yourself registered first by clicking on the ‘Get Started’ button at the top of the Pak-Identity Application System. Then you can create an application in the category for modification and submit the fee via Credit/Debit card. You will have to provide and modify your personal details, scan and attach a photograph along with the require documents, specimen signature and fingerprint form. If the applicant resides outside of Pakistan, then a witness form must be downloaded and two NICOP holder witnesses must fill these forms for submission. The process might take approximately 20 minutes.

After the completion of this process, the application will be submitted. The CNIC card will be mailed to the given address within minimum 7 working days in addition to two days for national and five days for international shipping. The applicant shall be notified and updated via email and SMS about the process i.e. registration, fee submission, application submission, approval/rejection/deferral, card printing, and card dispatching.
