It’s a peaceful evening, you just had your lunch or snack and you are free after scrolling down your instagram and see this lady from Italy making penne ala vodka. Now, you don’t want to watch it because duh vodka is haram dude but even the thumbnail is so freaking creamy and satisfying that you cannot deny it. Yes, same thing happened to me, I watched the video of some aunty cooking this extremely tomato-ish ratatoullie looking type pasta and I couldn’t resist to make it.

I did watch the whole video and with no sound. It was hard but I guessed the ingredients she was using. Not all those separate herbs but really got the idea of how to make a non-angrez, sasta, desi type pasta which look like its twin. So I grabbed all the ingredients. Here is the list:

Ingredients

  • Pasta- A handful because as per Sheldon cooper’s meemaw, its enough for one person serving.
  • Tomatoes-3
  • Thyme
  • Pepper
  • Salt
  • Ginger Garlic paste-1Tsp
  • The good old garam masala
  • Ranch Sauce
  • Beef Mince- A handful
  • Green chillies-3 (Make it one if you are a burger)
  • Capsicum- one quarter
  • Garlic- 3 Cloves
  • Oil

Meat Ball Preparation:

Put thyme, pepper, salt, garam masala and ginger garlic paste in beef mince mix and make round golaz out of them. If you are following one person serving of mine you will make 4 out of the described quantity. Fry them on low heat in preheated oil until cooked.

Pasta:

Boil the pasta according to the instruction on pack. Just bubbly-boo the water and put pasta check it in between till its done. Put it aside in a strainer.

The Mighty Sauce:

Dice the tomatoes with a potato masher, if you don’t know what a potato masher is, its that utensil from your

Potatoe Masher
Potato Masher

amma ka jahez that is new as hell and is never used.

Then dice the garlic cloves with it. Now in very little oil put tomatoes and garlic mixture with capsicum piece and green chilies and make them soft. When you soft dice them again with that masher thingy and put thyme, garam masala, salt and pepper.

Now let it cook for about 5  minutes until it forms a nice gravy shape. Pour the mixture into the blender and make a smoothie out of it. Pour it back in the pan, add one TSP of Ranch sauce, let it simmer and put the meat balls and pasta in it. Heat it a bit and pour this gooey-good in plate. You are welcome!
