First Cinema In Saudi Arabia To Be Open On April 18

World’s largest movie theatre and cinema chain AMC Entertainment will be the first one to open their cinemas and theatres in Saudi Arabia after more than three decades. AMC Entertainment is owned by a Chinese multinational group Wanda Group based in Beijing, China. AMC is the American movie theatre chain with their headquarter is based in Leawood, Kansas.

American Multi-Cinema (AMC) will be opening their first movie theatre in Saudi Arabia on April 18th, 2018, and they are expected to open 40 more cinemas in 15 cities of Saudi Arabia in next five years. AMC Entertainment signed a non-binding agreement in December with Saudi Arabia’s large Public Investment Fund in order to build and operate cinemas in more than 20 cities across the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia is a very big untapped market with more than 30 Million people, and more than 40% of them are under 25 years of age. Other competition for AMC would be Dubai based cinema chain VOX Cinema which is the largest operator in the Middle East.
