Fake Police Encounters From SSP Rao Anwar

Rao Anwar referred as “Encounter Specialist” who is also former SSP of Malir in Karachi District is in very deep trouble after the extrajudicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud. Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar has taken a suo moto action against the killing of an innocent Naqeebullah Mehsud, and also a petition has been filed by Advocate Muzamil Mumtaz Meo Rajput against Rao Anwar in which petitioner claimed that the police officer was involved in an extrajudicial murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud has also killed many innocent people in Fake police shootouts, but very few complaints have been registered due to the fear of persecution by the police influenced by the accused.

SSP Rao Anwar has been sacked from his post on the orders of senior officials, and Sindh High Court has accepted the petition regarding the investigation of about 250 innocent people murdered by Rao Anwar and his team in fake police encounters. Rao claimed and confirmed the death of four people who he claimed were the members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) which is a banned organization in Pakistan. According to the details Naqeebullah was picked up by the plain cloth police officers from Rao’s team and they interrogated him but Rao Anwar claimed that he never picked him up and never interrogated him and nor he was involved in the extrajudicial murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud. He gave names of 2 police officers Ali Akbar and Faisal who were involved in the arrest and killing of Naqeebullah along with 3 other genuine terrorists.

Another victim of Rao’s fake encounter has been identified as Nazar Jaan who came to Karachi from Waziristan. This 26-year-old boy was one of the 250 victims of Rao Anwar who were victimized and got killed in fake encounter. Rao Anwar has already been suspended for 4 times during his posting in Province of Sindh and held under investigation but was reinstated to his post later due to his connections with high profile police and political officials.

SHC has issued an arrest warrant for Rao Anwar as he failed to appear in front of the court under the investigation of the extrajudicial killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud. According to the reports and senior police officials Rao tried to leave the country but he was not successful in this attempt, and authorities put his name in ECL.
