Odho stepped into acting by playing a role in PTV drama Aaks in 1991. She then appeared in PTV long play Talaash in 1992. Her beauty and acting skills quickly established her as one of the leading actresses of Pakistan. She has worked for Fatmeed Foundation, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital and Hamara Mulk Hamaray Log. She has also conducted awareness sessions on breast cancer in Pakistan

Odho joined General Musharraf’s party that is All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) in 2010. She headed APML’s women wing. She resigned from the party membership after her wine scandal. Atiqa Odho was caught by Islamabad Airport authorities on June 5, 2011 for possessing two bottles of imported liquor. Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took suo moto notice and a FIR was registered against Odho on behalf of Pakistan Customs.
