Pest Repellent

Coffee grounds can be used to keep away garden pests and nails slugs. Just use your old coffee grounds and sprinkle them around your garden plants to keep the pests away.

Absorb Food Odors

Old coffee grounds is just like baking soda to absorb food odors. Fill a small open container with your old grounds. Place it in the back of your fridge and forget about it for a couple of weeks while you collect more grounds. The perk is that you get to drink more coffee. Once your coffee grounds have absorbed all your food odors and it begins to smell terrible, throw them into your compost pile or use them for fertilizer in your garden. They will break down in the earth and replenish your soil with important nutrients.

Exfoliate Skin

Because of their texture coffee grounds can also exfoliating skin. You can add used grounds to warm water or your favorite all natural oils such as coconut oil. Then scrub your skin to remove dead skin cells. Once you rinse off, your skin will be smooth and soft.

Coffee for your hair

Coffee can even clean your hair. Your hair can get weighed down with residue if you use a lot of hair styling products or if you switch to a natural shampoo and conditioner. Coffee can remove the residue and give your hair volume and shine. Before you shampoo grab a handful of used coffee grounds and massage them into your hair and scalp. The coarse texture is enough to break apart the product residue but it is also gentle enough that it will not damage your hair. Then wash your hair is normal to rinse out any remaining flakes or residue.

Cellulite treatments

Cellulite is caused by poor diet, sitting for long periods at a time, smoking for a genetic predisposition. Coffee grounds have shown to prove effective in decreasing the appearance of cellulite. A mix of used coffee grounds and warm water will do the trick. Use the scrub for 10 minutes twice per week on any areas that have cellulite. You should start seeing visible results within four weeks of regular treatment to the affected area.
